Properties:

ROSTIO Rust Converter is used to neutralise and stabilise rust on steel. It penetrates deep into the rust and effectively stops the corrosion process. In doing so, it converts iron oxides into a solid, insoluble, blue-black metal-organic compound. A special feature of the Rostio Rust Converter is that it does not necessarily have to be rinsed off with water after use. Therefore, it is also excellently suited for the treatment of cavities.

Application:

The surface on which the rust converter is to be applied should be thoroughly cleaned, free of grease and dry. If present, it is recommended to mechanically remove loose rust particles beforehand. The Rostio Rust Converter is applied evenly and thinly with a brush or roller. Alternatively, it can be applied by spraying at a pressure of 3-4 bar and a nozzle size of 1.3 - 1.5 mm. The optimum application temperature is between 5 °C and 35 °C. After a reaction time of 3 hours, the treated substrate can be overpainted or filled with commercially available paints and fillers without any problems. It should be noted that the rust converter should not be used on hot surfaces above 40 °C or in frosty conditions. When used on painted surfaces, the rust converter should be washed off immediately with water. Store the product frost-free and clean the equipment used thoroughly with water after use.
