Rostio Gel is ideal for easily derusting larger objects, even overhead, without dismantling the vehicle. The non-drip gel is applied thickly and, depending on the severity, dissolves rust in a few to several hours. Then simply remove it with water and a brush. It generally does not attack healthy metals, paints, and plastics (testing an inconspicuous area is recommended). Do not apply in direct sunlight—reapply the gel as needed. Biodegradable and environmentally friendly for disposal. Optimal at approximately 20°C.
Derusting cannonballs, archaeological finds and other finds
Some of our customers, known as metal detectorists, use metal detectors to find iron objects in the ground, which they then later derust. In this example, we show how a fragment of a cannonball from the German-Danish War of 1850 was derusted using Rostio Intensive Immersion Bath.
